Piku
I would have been disappointed had it been any less lovely since its by Shoojit Sircar, the uber talented Director of Vicky Donor. Vicky Donor is arguably one amongst the great Bollywood films of recent times.
Dil Dhadakne Do
DDD is a ZNMD wannabe.
But since its from the same Director, lets just say, she tried but it could not be.
Bhajrangi Bhaijan.
Some films are an outcome of brilliant “components” strung together which don’t somehow, in the end, create a wonderful whole.
Phantom
I would like to suggest an alternate one: “a film you wish wasn’t made.”
Dilwale
Dilwale. Dont go to see it.
Last seen the cast had their eyes covered. They couldn’t themselves stand seeing the film.
Bajirao Mastani
So, is Sanjay Leela Bhansali a consummate craftsman obsessed with love themes, or Is he a resolute romantic who loves to make grand films?
I think it’s the former. Would have preferred had it been the latter.
Baby
The film has been banned in Pakistan, and calls out muslim terrorists pretty clearly, by name, flags, locations etc. So be it. Let the politicos and the twitterati of both side fight it out, like they did for PK, you and I need to enjoy the films and creative works that need no censure.

What is it with the second half of many lovely films?
I recall how thrilled I was at half time during Rang De Basanti, only to walk out somewhat disappointed in the end. It was deja vu with 3 Idiots, another delightful one with unnecessary melodrama in the last half hour, as it was with Haider’s profligate killing at the end of the film.
